Prosciutto Arugula Pizza with Balsamic Drizzle

This pizza is absolutely delicious and looks very impressive ... but is one of the easiest pizzas to make, which is why it makes it the perfect dinner party food!

A medium-thin crust ( or use whatever crust style you like). with Just enough of the best homemade tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, and then topped with thinly slices of prosciutto. Once baked, add a bunch of peppery  arugula, some freshly ground black pepper, few shards of good Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. 


pizza dough ( either homemade or store bought)

3 cups homemade marinara sauce

1/2 lb fresh mozzarella cheese

5 thin slices of prosciutto di Parma

1 1/2 cups shaved Parmesan cheese

I handful of fresh arugula

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoon brown sugar


Preheat oven to 375

Prepare pizza dough by stretching out to a half sheet pan

Spoon a generous amount of marinara sauce onto pizza dough. Add Fresh mozzarella cheese and layer the prosciutto on on top.

Place in the middle rack of preheated oven and bake for about 25 - 30 minutes until crust is golden brown. Check bottom of crust to make sure it is golden brown as well.

While pizza is in the oven, prepare the balsamic glaze. In sauce pan combine balsamic vinegar and brown sugar on medium heat. Stir occasionally until vinegar and sugar thickens and becomes a thick syrup.

Once pizza is cooked, top with fresh arugula, shards of Parmesan cheese and drizzle balsamic reduction over entore pizza before serving.
